Dear Rotarians, dearest Friends,

Good evening to All and welcome to our 9th Regular Meeting for RY 2018-2019.

On October 1, at 2 PM, we will be meeting Michael Hulland, Executive Director of Tebow CURE Hospital, one of the Philippines’ foremost centers for pediatric orthopedics, to discuss their potential collaboration on Project WALK.

Tebow CURE is a privately-funded hospital whose only Philippine presence is in Davao. They are planning to open a state-of-the-art prosthetics and orthotics workshop by the end of the year and it would be fantastic if we could leverage their expertise, their dedication and…their kindness to restore health and confidence to a few of our prospective young patients.

PP Megs Lunn and PP Ricky Molo from RC Kalibo will be joining us to add first-hand stories and insight, since they have been with the project since its inception, 10 years ago.

On Tuesday October 2, our Governor’s Visit is planned. The Visit will take place here at Marco Polo Hotel, Borneo-Mindanao room on the ground floor, and kick off at 6 PM with a preliminary meeting with the President, Secretary and Board of Directors. The Session and ceremony proper will start soon after, around 7 PM.

Members are recommended to wear barong, Spouses and Ladies can wear dress or night gown.

Tomorrow Saturday 29 we are planning to reach Compostela Valley to donate the five solar lanterns to families living in rural areas not yet reached by electricity. The donation is made possible by Mr. Sergio Boero, a visionary entrepreneur and Chairman of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines.

Details on this activity are still being finalized and I look forward to your participation, if you are free tomorrow morning.

Last but not least, October 3 evening is our Governor’s Night, planned at Pinnacle Hotel, Crystal Ballroom, starting from 6:30. The theme for the night is “denim and glitters”, in other words wear anything that looks “jeans” and something clear and shiny as a decoration!

Please let us reward ourselves for the achievements past and energize ourselves for what lies ahead by joining the DG Bing Garcia and Lady Nene for an evening of good food and better fun!

I look forward to discussing all this and much more during today’s session.

Inspiringly yours,

Vanni Torelli
